Shadows of K-Town
Middleton is the area made for those who can’t afford to live on the western shores of the Alabama River. Middleton sits on the eastern bank of the Alabama, across from Riverside, connecting to the city by the Central Bridge. Middleton is smaller than Riverside, but twice as large as Northgate and Southgate combined. The slum of Wharftown lies to the north of Middleton and the slum of Smithfield lies to the south. The district was planned as living and housing for medium income households, but some areas near the edge of the district have fallen to low lifestyle living as people from the slums make their way in.
There is no formal crime element in Middleton. The police patrols are strictest in this area, trying to prevent any trouble from happening by targeting those who look like they might start trouble. Both of the cities gangs have made attempts to extend influence into Middleton, but have been generally unsuccessful.
